Heavy-duty racks usually mean beam-type pallet racks with a per-layer load of 500–2000 kg; decking mesh is not mandatory, but it must be laid for loose parts and turnover bins. Mesh specs are set by three dimensions: beam span, per-layer load and goods size.
Span sets the wire diameter: inner beam span under 1.5 m, per-layer load 500–1000 kg, choose 5 mm wire with 50×100 mm mesh; span 1.5–2.5 m, load 1000–1500 kg, choose 6 mm wire with 50×50 mm mesh plus 2–3 reinforcing ribs; span over 2.5 m, it's better to set pallets directly on beams and skip single-layer mesh.
Goods set the mesh opening: for palletized goods and turnover bins, 50×100 mm is enough; for small parts, bagged goods and hardware parts, you must have the dense 50×50 mm; for steel swarf and casting flash, add a bottom steel plate. Mesh width is the beam inner width minus 5 mm, so the overlapping edge rests fully on the beam.
Fixing method for heavy-duty racks must be clips or bolts; direct overlap is forbidden. Nanjing Tongnuo Warehouse Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. produces decking mesh with clips matched to the customer's beam height and hole spacing, ready to use on arrival, and provides a uniform-load test report.
Selection checklist: measure the beam inner span and height, report the per-layer load and the smallest part size, require the maker to give four parameters — wire diameter, mesh opening, number of reinforcing ribs and fixing method — plus a load-test report; order only when all three are present.
