A chemical raw-material warehouse turns over bagged powders, drummed liquids and small-packaged reagents, so containers must be corrosion-resistant, leak-proof, and stored by zone according to hazardous-chemical requirements. Using ordinary carbon-steel cages for acid and alkali raw materials means rust-through and leaks within two years, a major safety hazard.
For ordinary material bags, a hot-dip galvanized cage is sufficient, with a 500 kg load step and a bottom sheet to stop powder from leaking out of torn bags. For contact with acids/alkalis or solvent fumes, line the inner walls with a PE coating or choose stainless-steel 304, with corrosion-protected welds so corrosive fluid cannot seep along solder points.
Liquid drums are handled separately: 200 L drums are fixed in slotted cage positions, with an oil drip tray or anti-corrosion tray under the cage bottom to catch any leak on the spot. Different categories must not be mixed in one cage — oxidizers and reducers, acids and alkalis must go to separate zones and cages, to avoid a reaction if a leak occurs. Cages holding corrosive materials must be checked regularly for welds and coating; exposed metal means immediate withdrawal and repair.
Hazardous-chemical cages must carry the corresponding hazard markings and GHS labels, with cage colors managed by zone — for example red for the acid zone and blue for the alkali zone. Cages entering and leaving storage must be weighed and registered, with empty and loaded cages stored separately to prevent accidentally stacking and crushing a leaking drum.
Nanjing Tongnuo Warehouse Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. can build anti-corrosion-coated cages, drum cages with drip trays and a zoned color scheme for chemical warehouses, and run on-site leak trials under the customer's working conditions, confirming structural safety before delivery.
