The cage bottom directly supports goods and works with forklift entry; common types are mesh, solid plate, and framed bases—choose based on what you load. The bottom type determines whether materials leak, whether cleaning is easy, and how loads are transferred; do not order by price alone.

Mesh bases are welded from horizontal and vertical wires into a grid; they are light, ventilated, and drain well, suitable for boxed items, palletized goods, and medium parts that tolerate leakage; common wire diameter is 4~6mm and mesh opening around 50×50mm. The downside is that small parts fall through the openings, and oil drips onto the floor.

Solid plate bases are covered with a whole steel or checkered plate; they prevent leakage and are easy to hose down, suitable for powder, small hardware, and casting chips; but they add obvious self-weight, with the base plate alone adding 15~25kg per cage, and drain poorly—must be wiped dry after washing.

Framed bases have a steel-section frame around the edges with mesh in the middle; loads from forklift and stacking are transferred through the frame. They are low-cost and versatile, the most common configuration for standard turnover cages; if you need to hold fine materials, you can add a rubber mat or hollow-board liner on the mesh.

Practical advice: choose solid-plate bases for loose fragmented materials, mesh or framed bases for boxed turnover items, and mesh bases with drainage for wet washing stations. Nanjing Tongnuo Warehouse Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. can customize the bottom form according to material shape, sample-load-testing for no leakage before mass production.
